Lend Me A Tenor

This quintessential farce presents the Cleveland Opera preparing for the greatest Italian tenor in the world, Tito Morelli, to make a guest appearance. Suddenly, the star can't go on! Watch the rollicking display of turns and twists, sexy starlets, a jealous wife, slamming doors and hilarious mistaken identities. Directed by Michele Lee Cobb. The Ford Festival of One Act Plays

US Forces theater departments from throughout Europe will bring their best actors and directors to this festival of short dramas, comedies, and musicals. Each production will be judged and reviewed by a panel of professional judges, making the festival as much a learning workshop as a weekend of theater. Admission is free to the public. Productions will be presented all day and evening 9, 10, and 11 OCT.

Into The Woods

This charming, Tony award-winning musical combines the tales of Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and her mother the witch, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and a few new characters as they all go into the woods in search of adventure. As these characters and stories bump into each other, we encounter hilarious moments, tearful moments, and everything in between. All the while Sondheim and Lapine's wonderful music and lyrics take us on a journey of impressive solos, touching duets, and magnificent company numbers. Directed by James Sohre. Auditions: 5, 6 OCT. Crimes Of The Heart

This wickedly funny Pulitzer Prize-winning drama explores the lost loves and dreams of an eccentric Southern family. The play bursts with energy, laughter, and a peculiar wisdom as three women provoke, protect and rediscover each other through shared memories and forgotten dreams. The Elephant Man

This play follows the emotional experiences of John Merrick, an 1880's circus freak rescued from his degrading life by the young London surgeon Frederick Treves. This Tony and Obie award-winning play holds a funhouse mirror to our faces, allowing us to see the beauty inside the misfigured shell of Merrick, and the ugly visage of society all at once. A truly remarkable story of the triumph of human dignity over ignorance, prejudice and fear. Directed by Ron Paoletti. Auditions: 19, 20 JAN. Roles for 5 men and 2 women. The Music Man

One of the most popular musicals ever, "The Music Man" is the story of Harold Hill, a travelling con man, who sets his sights on the unsuspecting town of River City, Iowa. He convinces the citizens that they are inviting trouble by allowing the introduction of a Pool Table. To correct this, he sells them on forming a children's band. This is truly glorious family entertainment! Directed by James Sohre. Auditions: 22, 23 MAR. Roles for 10 women, 13 men, and a large chorus of children. Performances: 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 MAY and 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, JUN.
